Notes

This alter is to honor my grandma Dafinka. She died five years ago and was very important to me. I love her very much and know that she is still with our family in our hearts. The items I chose to include represent her. The alter has a blue background because blue was her favorite color. Her favorite colors for flowers were pink and red. Also, she loved to needle point. Her favorite thing to eat was cornbread. Traditional day of the dead alter items include papel picado. I chose yellow and did a simple design because she also liked the color yellow. I also added Pan de Muertos, a common bread made during day of the dead. I also have a picture of her because many day of the dead alters have a picture of the dead person they are honoring. I have a rocking chair and lamp because my grandma would always needle point in her chair by the lamp. I have two butterflies because she loved them. I put two pink bows because she died of breast cancer. She was very important to me because she was my grandma who loved me very much. I love her too and wish her well in heaven.
