VASUKI
Ada dua versi dari Vasuki.
Yaitu, yang pertama, Naga Vasuki.
Vasuki adalah naga. Salah satu raja ular dari mitologi Hindu dan Budha. Dia adalah raja besar dari naga dan memiliki permata (Nagamani) di kepalanya. Manasa, naga lain, adalah saudarinya. Vasuki juga dikenal dalam mitologi Cina dan Jepang sebagai salah satu “delapan besar Naga Kings”, antara Nanda (Nagaraja), Upananda, Sagara (Shakara), Takshaka, Balavan, Anavatapta dan utpala.
Yang kedua, Ular Vasuki.
Ular Vasuki terkenal melingkar di leher Dewa Siwa. Dewa Siwa memberkati Vasuki dan memakai dia sebagai hiasan. Legenda yang paling terkenal di Hindu di mana Vasuki mengambil bagian dalam kejadian Samudra Manthan. Dia berputar dari satu lautan susu. Dalam legenda ini, Vasuki memungkinkan dewa dan asura untuk mengikat dia di Gunung Mandara dan menggunakannya sebagai tali berputar mereka untuk mengekstrak Tirta Amerta dari lautan susu. Vasuki juga disebutkan dan digunakan sebagai tali pengetatan di kitab suci Hindu , seperti di setiap Itihasas (Ramayana dan Mahabharata).
