The United States of America had an essential supply of natural resources such as timber, iron, coal, minerals, oil and land. This enabled America to become a huge economic power at the beginning of the twentieth century. These resources were an important foundation for the economy.One of the major causes was the fact that USA is rich in raw material, which leads to a growing industry. Rich in natural resources meant that USA did not have to import vast amounts of resources for the basic needs such as transportation and factories. This advantage was why USA was exporting all kinds of goods to Europe, Latin America and the Far East. More and more industries are developing ways of more efficient and productive ways of producing their product.

At the start of the twentieth century america was the most powerful country going (they had a vast supply of rescources such as timber, iron, oil and coal, this meant that the country able to become a large economic power) because the war had caused minimal damage to it's land. On the other hand america's allies in europe experienced the horrific aftermath of the war; they struggled to hold their countries together and in the end they had to turn to america for help. America supported it's allies through a one way trade with europe, by transporting supplies of food and weaponry. On account of this trade, the country made even more more, so it's economy was able to invest in new industries and therby support it's nation finically.
