- Amycus Carrow, saudara laki-laki dari Alecto Carrow, merupakan salah satu anggota Pelahap Maut, yang pada tahun 1997-1998 mengajar kelas PTIH yang ia ganti kurikulumnya menjadi Ilmu Hitam (Dark Arts). Silabusnya termasuk Cruciatus & Killing Curse serta Fiendfrye.
- Amycus Carrow terkenal dengan memberikan Cruciatus Curse pada murid yang terkena detensi.
- Amycus Carrow berakhir di penjara Azkaban bersama saudaranya setelah dikalahkan Profs McGonagall menggunakan Imperius Curse di Menara Ravenclaw.
- Walaupun sikapnya yang sadis dan tak kenal ampuh, dia memiliki kemampuan mengajar yang baik hingga muridnya dapat mempraktekkan Cruciatus, Imperius & Killing Curse serta mantra rumit seperti Fiendfrye sesuai dengan silabusnya. Namun, teknik mengajarnya yang diragukan karena ketidak-lengkapan materi yang diajarkan. Hasilnya, anak didiknya, Vincent Crabbe, berhasil memunculkan Fiendfrye namun tidak dapat mengendalikannya yang akhirnya membawanya menuju alam baka.
