Thats the problem. The unmoved mover is NOTHING like the kalam. Absolutely nothing in common. The argument from motion works just as well with an eternal universe because the unmoved mover argument is not arguing for a temporal beginning rather for a pure act. (Actus Purus).

The sheer amount of ignorance and strawmen that are densly packed in this passage is honestly frustrating. Whoever write this above passage as a "rebuttal" to the argument from motion is attacking RD's strawman not the actual argument.

Like the smart fella who wrote the above excerpt, RD also thinks that the argument from motion is trying to argue that because everything is in motion, it must have been set in motion by something else and this can not regress to infinite so there is a first mover. That is not even close to the argument. The argument is not arguing for an unmoved mover backwards in time or for a first mover who triggered the beginning of the universe or "started the domino chain". Rather the argument is arguing for an unmoved mover *down* deep in reality.
The two defenders of this argument never argued for a beginning of the universe.
