My experiment is to see if ice melts faster with sugar,salt or with no
HYPOTHESIS
I believe that salt will win as it disrupts the equilibrium of water and ice.
MATERIALS
1. Three cups of equal size, one labeled “control,” one labeled “salt” and one labeled “sugar”
2. Water
3. Ice
4. Salt
5. Sugar
6. Tablespoon
7. Stopwatch
PROCEDURES
1. Fill each cup with water.
2. Add the same amount of ice to each
3. In the cup labeled “salt,” sprinkle on a tablespoon of salt. Do not stir.
4. Immediately sprinkle a tablespoon of sugar into the cup labeled “sugar.” Do not stir.
5. Start the stopwatch.
6. Note down the amount of time it takes for the ice to completely melt into water for each cup.
7. Clean out the cups and repeat experiment three times or more, always keeping careful notes.
RESULTS
The fastest one to melt was the normal container with a time of 35:23.64
It was then followed by the Salt container with a time of 50:12.50
The slowest one was the Sugar with a time of 1:09:38.44
CONCLUSION
The normal was the fastest one with the time of 35:23.64 and surprisingly made the Salt container come 2nd with a time of 50:12.50.
