Mass Media and the Jazz Age:
Mass Media - Methods of spreading Information to a large amount of people (Print, and broadcasting were typically used)

Jazz age - An age in which jazz was extremely popular. (during 1920's)

Lost generation - A set of writers, which believed the world lacked morals, and were to hung up on materialistic things. (During 1920's)

Harlem Renaissance - A area in New York City, which was densely populated by African Americans. And was a home for a literary awakening of the 1920's.

A republican Decade :

Communism - The government owned all land, and the gov is controlled by a single political party. Individuals had no rights the government would respect, and the gov vowed to stir up revolutions in other countries, and spread their communism.

Isolationism - A policy of avoiding political, or economic alliances with foreign countries.

Disarmament - A program that makes countries give up with weapons, to prevent conflicts.

Quota - A certain number of immigrants that can come to the U.S. for each country.

Teapot Dome Scandal - Albert B. Fall, allowing oil companies to drill on government oil fields. For payments of money towards him. (He later went to jail)

Kellogg-Briand Pact - A pact in which nations agreed not to use threat in their dealing with one another.

Society in the 20's:

Flapper - New type of woman in the 1920's. Characteristics of being, young, rebellious, fun, loving, and bold.

Demographics - Statistics that describe a population, such as data on race or income.

Barrio - Spanish Speaking Neighborhood

A business Boom:

Consumer Economy - Large amount of people who use/buy products.

Installment Plan - A plan in which consumers payed stuff over a certain course of time. (Made payments on stuff)

Assembly Line - A manufacturing process in which certain individuals specialize in a specific task.
