Mom: Isn’t that the Rock and Roll show? I knew that letting you watch that Elvis gyrate hips would lead to juvenile delinquency.
Sally: Aw, mom. I just want to dance, that’s it. Dancing is not juvenile delinquency. Even the Mouseketeers do it.
Mom: And what is next? Stealing lipstick to look pretty? Kissing boys? Worse? Where would it end—finding you dead in a ditch? Absolutely not. What would the other mothers in the PTA think?
[Scene ends. New scene opens in Sally’s bedroom. She is sneaking out of her window. She hesitates, then grabs a lipstick and leaves.]
