1. Katakana merupakan serapan yang berasal dari bahasa asing. Ada 5 makna dari Katakana, yaitu:
- Kata-kata yang berasal dari bahasa asing,
- Nama orang; tempat asing; serta kata kata benda asing,
- Nama binatang & tumbuhan.
- Kata-kata yang menirukan suatu bunyi.
- Kata-kata yang ingin ditekankan.
2. Kesulitan yang dialami saat menuliskan kata-kata yang berasal dari bahasa asing adalah:
a. Pronounciation atau pengucapan asli dari bahasa asing tersendiri yang membuat sulit dalam penulisan.
b. Kebingungan dalam menggunakan Katakana yang mana yang harus digunakan dalam penulisan bahasa asing yang mana bunyinya tidak terdapat dalam bahasa jepang.
c. Kesulitan dalam menuliskan bunyi panjang dan bunyi konsonan berganda.
3. Menurut saya, kenapa kata-kata dari bahasa asing dalam penulisan Jepangnya tidak sesuai penulisan asli dari kata tersebut. Karena penulisan kata-kata bahasa asing itu sudah di ubah menjadi bahasa jepang jadi penulisannya tidak mengikuti pengucapan bahasa asingnya melainkan mengikuti ucapan penuturnya (orang Jepang).

- インスタント = Insutanto
- オリエンタル = Orientaru
