The book Dr.Jekyll and Mr.Hyde , written by Stevenson was an incredibly well plotted story which became very popular. Dr.jekyll and Mr.Hyde was set in London around the 1880.In this story London is described different to the others, where there's London described as an more lively city with bright streets.When here 'London' is described more as dangerous and darker city.Stevenson also just not talk about one city, but two. London and Edinburgh ,there's the idea of new and old town , which are divided into the higher and lowest classes people ( poor and rich) which is influence of the nature and society.

The book Dr.Jekyll and Mr.Hyde presents the power between nature and science.Stevenson was trying to set the idea of the subject to find a body for the strong sense of man's double being. The author was also trying to show the beliefs of sub-conscious and conscious which mean the two side in this novel he meant it as an two sides of personalities.Stevenson was taken as a serious writer after he written Dr.Jekyll and Mr.Hyde
In the novel it involves the human character and their behavior. The dealing idea of fighting our real desire by commenting on taking drugs(powders) , realise some sort of interner demon by the the rule society created.

Stevenson uses language in very specticular way to create the atmosphere of horror and drade without being too graphic,Uses the language which communicate the shocking nature of event.Shown "the man trampled calmly over the child's body and left hers creaming on the ground " described the death of the girl by the formal language which is almost shocking. The words "calmly" apply that there's somethting terrible about the man , which force us to create own image of the man and event.

The narrative structure is in three forms of narrative points of view. The 1st, where the voice telling the story and uses the word 'I' gives the us the motive to think and feel for it more. The 2nd, which refers to 'you' and talk to reader directly , gives the idea the put the reader in that situation or shoes. The 3rd 'he' , 'she' and 'they' which the voice refers to actions. It's interesting that Stevenson uses a number narratives to build up the mistery and suspense by keep staying with Untterson character , which most of the actions we imagine are through his eyes, He's presented as lawyer , professional, gentlemen , serious character but yet lovable/human. As he's Jekyll friend. Untetterson is tolorante as jekyll open up to him which also shows he's trustworthy and not jugmental.

This is also allegory story which reveal a hidden meaning that reveal to Jekyll and Hyde. Hyde is not described as human or man but more likely as a monster or unrealistic image of Jekyll.Hyde is the darker side of Jekyll. Hyde's actions shakes the whole city and destroy it piece , He represent the dangerous elements of London. In my opinion Stevenson could suggest through the character of Hyde that sometimes we can't escape from the dark thoughts or the darker side of us. However Dr.Jekyll is well respected scientist ,member of a higher classes life character to have positive feelings towards. He's perfect gentlemen which Stevenson introduced this as the meaning of double life.
