SC said that state citizenship had nothing to do with national citizenship and that an African american can't sue federal government for that.
Plessy case
was a landmark case of the US SC decided in 1896, it upheld state racial segregation laws for public facilities under the doctrine of "separate but equal".
Gitlow v. New York
case where Gitlow a publisher and was a communist party member who published something in the newspaper, which supported the violent overthrow of the US govt.
