The credit goes to Eduard Buchner, a german scientist who so convergent has been working for this discovery, that he eventually won the nobel prize of the year 1907, for his work on biochemical investigations and his discovery of non-cellular fermentation.

And unfortunately, there are those, who care not weather it is a scientifically proven biological molecule, or weather the food travels into a tiny dragon inside the body, which growls when it is hungry.
