in my opinion i think that the film version is the best way to communicate the shocking conclusion to billy discovering the landlady's true motives. i think this because you can see billy's reaction and see him putting all the pieces together. you can see it on his face when everything clicked.

i think the film stayed along the same guide lines but you saw more than you did in the text version. you could see billy struggling to get air and then clasping in the ending shot.

no i think they had the same ending effect. they both ended with the land lady killing billy and they both followed along the same main points. they followed the same plot it was just more involved when watching it because you can see it and make you feel like you are there.
