Marx wrote The Communist Manifesto in 1848. He is considered to be father of the conflict and critical theory (Regueiro, 2017). This theory explains the difference of power among the members of competing groups. It also analyzes that there exists an unequal distribution of power. Clearly, the group with influences will control all resources. Due to the inequality, the less fortunate group does not have the power to control the laws, economy and resources. This theory focuses on the inequality due to a certain race, ethnicity, sexuality, class and gender (Conflict theory, 2014).

In the same way, Max Weber is considered to be a founder of modern social science. According to Gustafson (2013) “Weber introduced the distinction between social class (one's relationship to the market), status class (religion and reputation), and party class (political affiliations), as the three classes that work together to determine one's potential future” (para. 9). Webber expressed how people have more control and influence when they have a high socioeconomic status. He also expanded critique of Capitalism (Regueiro, 2017)
