Notes

After reading this novel, I feel amazed, devastated, and satisfied. I was so amazed as to how such small children can cause so much damage all on their own. Especially by the strategies they used to survive and how they treated one another. The children set the island on fire, began hunting pigs, and started to target each other in order to determine who was the leader of them all. Which resulted in two of the boy's death, it was awful. The actions and words towards each other were very hostile and it was devastating when they killed the two boys, Simon and Piggy. Simon died because he was mistaken for something the boys called “The Beastie.” They jumped onto him and began to tear him apart with their bare hands and teeth, resulting in Simon’s death. Piggy died by the boys dropping a boulder on him from a mountain. Piggy fell to his death, it was horrifying. Towards the end of the book, I felt satisfied because they got the chance to get rescued and get off the island
