gvlk = KMS key. You will use this key when online
KMS servers that support KMS v6 come up to activate
for 180 days at a time, or on a KMS activator.
You can change your key after install using the command:
"SLUI 3" -or-
"SLMGR /IPK XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX"
DO NOT USE any activators that are NOT KMS-based,
they are hacktivators that will screw your system up
and possibly even your hardware. Use only KMS-based
activations for Win8.x if you don't have a legit OEM or
retail key. VolumeMAK will likely get leaked soon for
VL activations. Old 8.0 VolumeMAK permanent activation
keys will not work on 8.1. If you get a VolumeMAK
successful activation, you should back up your
C:WindowsSystem32sppstore folder.
The activation information is stored in store2.0data.dat
and tokens.dat, but there could be some relevent data in
the cache as well. To restore activation simply install
the desired OS, copy over the saved activation files over
the old ones in your system that are not activated, and
reboot. Reboot is not essential; you can do other things
that involve system functions and it will eventually re-read
your activation files. Reboot is just a quicker way.
You have to enter a key in this version because the ei.cfg
method that was used previously, blocks upgrades that keep program
settings and files. Note that the Migration Wizard is no longer
existant, so back up your personal information another way.
