1. Azkaban adalah sebuah penjara/benteng yang berada di sebuah pulau lebih tepatnya di tengah-tengah samudera. Penjara ini di buat untuk memenjarakan siapapun yang melakukan kejahatan seperti penggunaan 3 kutukan mantra yang tak termaafkan. Kabarnya, azkaban di jaga oleh para dementor sehingga para pelaku yg dikurung di dalamnya sulit untuk melarikan diri.
2. ㅡ Bartemius Crouch Jr. Ia berhasil keluar karena pada saat itu ia ingin menyelamatkan anaknya dan menggantikannya dengan isterinya yang sekarat. Ia menggunakan ramuan Polyjuice untuk berganti rupa dengan putranya dan pada akhirnya berhasil keluar dari penjara Azkaban. Ia pada saat itu dalam keadaan yang lemah sekali akibat pengaruh penjara Azkaban dan akhirnya dirawat oleh peri-rumahnya, Winky.
ㅡ Sirius Black. Ia berhasil kabur dari Azkaban dan mengelabui para dementor. Dia berhasil mengubah dirinya yg sudah kurus jadi anjing hitam, sehingga dementor tidak bisa lagi mengenal dirinya. Dan karena itulah ia berhasil kabur.
