- Suatu enkripsi klasik untuk menyamarkan suatu pesan dengan menggunakan pola tertentu.
- Cipher ini termasuk cipher yang sangat sederhana.
- Ada 2 pola Null Cipher yang umum digunakan, yaitu :
1. Pola huruf pertama / akhir
2. Pola berulang (1-2-1, 1-2-3, dsb.)
- Null Cipher ini menggunakan huruf pertama atau terakhir dari kata dalam sebuah kalimat. Misalnya, 'Hilang atau lupa organ' dan pola yang ditanya adalah huruf pertama. Maka hanya tinggal melihat huruf pertama dari setiap kata dalam kalimat tersebut, sehingga menjadi :
(H)ilang (a)tau (l)upa (o)rgan
Sehingga jadi 'Halo'.
- Huruf terakhir, Contoh kalimat :
'Masa asap ada kelak lupa akrab, pula kabur'
terakhir dalam setiap kata, maka akan menjadi :
Mas(a) asa(p) ad(a) kela(k) lup(a) akra(b) pul(a) kabu(r)
'Apa kabar'.
- Pola yang kedua adalah pola berulang. Angka 1-2-1 adalah petunjuk kalian harus melihat huruf yang ke berapa.
Contoh kalimat : 'Saya avatar asli'
Petunjuk : 1-2-1.
Jadi : (S)aya a(v)atar (a)sli.
Sehingga didapatlah 'SVA'.

- Perlu diingat :
Huruf mati/konsonan : garis (—)
Huruf hidup/vokal : titik (●)
- Contoh :
Eve -> O O3S I
SVA -> O3 O3S OH
