Speluitleg
Iedereen staat aan een kant van het terrein, behalve de "Schipper". Deze geeft een opdracht (zie onder). Op een signaal gaat iedereen het terrein over, terwijl hij de opdracht uitvoert. Lukt een persoon daar niet in, dan kan de Schipper deze tikken en moet die verder de schipper helpen bij zijn taak. Doel van het spel is natuurlijk om zo lang mogelijk over en weer te gaan.
Opdrachten: Klassiek spelen wij het dat aan de ene kant een opdracht werd gegeven (bijvoorbeeld hinkelen, koprollen, . . .) en aan de andere kant een kleur. Bij een kleur was het de bedoeling dat je er voor zorgde dat die kleur niet in je kleding voorkwam. Is dat zo, dan mocht je over, is dat niet zo: run for it!
Meestal moet de Schipper z'n opdracht pas geven nadat de overigen zingen:
Schipper mag ik overvaren, ja of neen? Moet ik dan een cent betalen, ja of neen? Wat moet ik doen?
