Dear diary:
Ive decided from today im going to start writing in my diary. Hello, my name is Wilfred Edward Salter Owen, i was born on the 18th march 1893, i was born in a house in weston lane. i am an English poet and solider in the world war 1. my poetry was on the horrors of the trenches. i lived in a comfortable house that was owned by my grandfather, Edward shaw. my grandfather sadly died in january 1897. Anyway getting to whats happened today, i was in the front line trench and it was a horrible experience, the trenches are cramped, dirty and rat infestive, i miss my family and friends and of course my home. it was really hard work in the front line trenches, but the good thing about going throw that day of tough work is that if you do a day in the front line trenches you get more ration food, even though its still a small amount in the ration pouches. also if i need to go out the trenches to fight then i have to cut the barded wire which means more chance of me getting shot which worries me everyday.
