1. Tata Surya adalah kumpulan benda langit yang terdiri atas sebuah bintang yang disebut; Matahari dan semua objek yang terikat oleh gaya gravitasinya. Objek-objek tersebut termasuk delapan buah planet yang sudah diketahui dengan orbit berbentuk elips, lima planet kerdil/katai, 173 satelit alami yang telah diidentifikasi, dan jutaan benda langit (meteor, asteroid, komet) lainnya.

12. Kromosfer adalah lapisan tipis di atmosfer matahari. lapisan ini terletak diatas fotosfer, dan memiliki kedalaman sekitar 2.000 km
13. Pada bagian luar dari Tata Surya terdapat gas-gas raksasa dengan satelit-satelitnya yang berukuran planet.
14. planet Kebumian adalah planet-planet yang ukuran dan komposisi penyusunnya (batuan) mirip dengan bumi. Yang termasuk planet terrestrial adalah merkurius, Venus, Bumi dan Mars.
15. Nebula-nebula planet dan supernova-supernova diperlukan untuk proses distribusi logam di medium antarbintang.
