4.the theme of the poem is that nothing in this world will be remember forever and no matter how hard we try beauty fades away over a period of time.
5.I died for beauty, but was scarce
Adjusted in the tomb(Dickinson 1).
Until the moss had reached our lips,
And covered up our names.(Dickinson 3)
This shows that beauty doesn't matter when we die and that our names will also fade over time.
6.One example is "That is not seen by day,
For as soon as the dawn approaches
It vanishes away"(Longfellow 3).
Another is "It sits there in the moonlight
Itself as pale and still,
And points with its airy finger
Across the window-sill"(Longfellow 4).
It shows consonance of consonant sounds in the first example there is a repetition of s sound of soon, seen, vanishes and it can appear anywhere in the words not just at the beginning like alliteration!
In the second one its also consonance of the s sound from the sill,points,sits in nearby words.
9. The theme of this poem is that at a point of everyone life we experience sad things
10.I know this because it states "each heart has a haunted chamber"(Longfellow 1) "by phantoms of the past."(Longfellow 2).That something in his past has haunted him and everyone probably experienced that as well.
11."He was floppy and sloppy and skinny and tall"(Silverstein 1).
"And he told them all why he looked so sad,
And he told them all why he felt so bad.
He told of Pain and Rain and Cold"(Silverstein 1).
This shows consonance of "oppy" in sloppy and floppy, "ad" in sad and bad, also "ain" in rain and pain.
12. simile:"Or crust and sugar over--
like a syrupy sweet?
Maybe it just sags
like a heavy load"(Hughes 1).
Comparing the dream to the overlap of syrupy sweet or how the dream sags like something is heavy.
"What happens to a dream deferred?
Does it dry up
Like a raisin in the sun?"(Hughes 1)
Comparing dream deferred to a dry up raisin in the sun
Metaphor "Or does it explode"(Hughes 1).
Comparing a deferred dream of a person hopeless and it cause to explode of desperation
