We are currently on the doorstep of technology and computing revolution that will significantly change our everyday lives. I am happy to commit my long career to this high paced and dynamic field; and I feel that there are still a lot of new developments to be made there. Taking everything into consideration, like my interest in computer related fields and the future of technology development, it was natural for me to choose Computer Science as my university major. Now that I have graduated from university, I wish to continue my studies in an academically rigorous environment.

The best way to achieve my goal is to move forward and seek knowledge outside of my country. There is only one logical destination: the USA, a country that is standing in the center of the computer universe. There are a lot of successful and innovative companies in the field of computer engineering situated in the US. Therefore, I am applying to join your MSc in Computer Science program starting in the Fall of 2017. I believe that I have sufficient knowledge and am well prepared to start a master's program given my academic and practical background.

During my high school years, I was fortunate to meet a teacher who could see my interests and advised me to apply for Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology - one of the best technical universities in Russia. After the second year of university, I enrolled in a special sub-department which has a connection with NetCracker Company because it is one of the most prestigious sub-departments in our university and NetCracker is an international company.

In the fourth year of studies, I needed to choose a professor who would mentor my Bachelor's thesis. My Bachelor's thesis was "Performance evaluation of a fragment of broadband wireless network in millimeter wavelengths". We researched possible future of 5th generation cellular technology and how it can be applied. Russia and the US are neck and neck developing this technology. This topic interested me very much, so I wanted to continue researching about it more.

In addition to the courses that I have taken, I was also proactive outside of the classroom. For example, I took some time to travel from Russia to London by myself, encountering interesting people during my tour. This helped me learn how to be independent. On weekends, I usually worked for my father as a photographer. I took pictures during tennis competitions for ViTAR (Vietnam Tennis Association in Russia), so I have learned to quickly adapt to every situation which I think will prove to be useful for my graduate studies abroad. This gave me a quick-witted and creative mind which is very helpful to deal with any unexpected situation that might occur during my studies.

I am highly motivated to gain new skills and experience new things. That is one of the reasons why I have decided pursue Iowa State University's MSc in Computer Science program.
