Mooncalf.
Mooncalf adalah makhluk pemalu yang hanya muncul saat bulan purnama tiba. Ia memiliki kulit lembut berwarna abu-abu pucat,dengan 4 kaki yang masing-masing memiliki telapak kaki yang besar dan juga datar.
Mereka juga memiliki mata yang besar, letaknya ada di atas kepala.
Mooncalf yang muncul di saat bulan purnama, umumnya bermaksud untuk mencari pasangan.
Mereka akan menarikan gerakan yang rumit sambil bertumpu dengan kaki belakang mereka untuk menarik perhatian lawan jenisnya, layaknya sebuah ritual perkawinan.
Semakin rumit tarian mereka, maka lawan jenisnya akan semakin tertarik.
Efek dari tarian mooncalf bisanya menghasilkan sesuatu,yaitu pola geometris yang sering ditemukan di ladang gandum para muggle dan mereka sering mengira itu adalah ulah UFO. Padahal, itu ulah para mooncalf pencari jodoh.
Kotoran mooncalf yang diambil sebelum matahari terbit ternyata dapat digunakan untuk memupuk tanaman. Karena akan membuat tanaman subur dan kuat.
Sedikit tambahan,newt Scamander juga ternyata memiliki kumpulan mooncalf di kopernya selama kunjungannya ke New York pada tahun 1926."
