Peter, I am writing from NYC where you have more chances to get mugged in the street than in a secured concert hall in Carthage. Dude, you overreacted and showed that you are more worried about your little person than you are about your fans. I would have understood if the whole festival was cancelled but please show some real respect and be square. Say I freaked out and don't give us no non-sense because you spoke to a guy seating behind his desk in Washington DC. Your agent is saying in a mail to the organizers that you guys have been considering the security situation over a month ago which is not true. Your cancellation came last Friday over the week end. The travel warning has been in place for over 6 months and you had plenty of time to make up your mind, way before you signed any contract and had your name printed all over the place. Funny thing is that the exact same day you cancelled, the US embassy in Tunis was again fully staffed after 6 months of disruption and all US diplomats and employees are back in Tunis with their families. You think that the guy who warned you about Tunisia travel in State Department fooled them?
Dude, Tunis is not Kabul or Mogadishu, or even Detroit for that matter and Tunisia is building a democracy that will make it safe for all Americans that will travel to the region in the future. You obviously did not understand the importance of having cultural events as a tool of resistance to all the dark forces that really hate your american guts. I asked the organizers what were the chances that you would change your mind and they said less than 1%. I think this is your chance to win big in the lottery. I can assure you that if you do, your fans (and I am one them) will give you the concert of your life. I will even take the plane and come back to Tunis for the concert. Now that's taking real risks!
