I think I have a firm grasp on the meanng of this quote, if you leave the Second part of this quote out you'll be left Misunderstood garbage, YOLO. I think you should live in the moment and focus on one thing and earn gratification from the experience but many do that, but neglect learning, If you only have the first part it makes you think. "Oh, why go to school when I might die tommorow I might as well as live the life." But no, you cannot neglect seeking new knowledge, I realize you can live in the moment while you live you're life gaining knowledge.
The quote also reminds me of a Dalai Lama quote where he says "If you worry about the future you live in the future, if you worry about the now you live in the now, if you worry you'll spend you're life living in the future and you'll not have lived at all, thats is why I live in the now so I can live life.
