JERBOA
Jerboa adalah mamalia yang bentuknya menyerupai kanguru kecil. Jerboa berwarna cokelat kekuningan memiliki telinga lancip, mata seperti kancing, dan kumis panjang jerboa kaki depannya pendek, sedangkan kaki belakangnya panjang dan kuat. Jerboa biasanya berjalan menggunakan kaki belakang mereka. Ketika ketakutan, mereka akan segera menyingkir dengan cara melompat-lompat seperti kanguru. Binatang ini dapat ditemukan di Gurun Gobi Mongolia Selatan hingga Gurun Takla-Makan Mereka tinggal di bukit pasir di tepi oasis padang pasir dan dilembah berpasir yang tertutupi semak yang rendah dan mereka juga dapat di temukan didaerah pegunungan gersang dan semi gurun. Mangsa kesukaan jerboa adalah serangga. Dengan pendengarannya yang tajam, ia mencari lokasi si serangga. Setelah tahu lokasinya, jerboa melompat cepat. Long-Eared Jerboa betina melahirkan 2 hingga 6 anak, dua kali selama musim panas. Kehamilan berlangsung sekitar 25 hingga 35 hari dan akan dirawat induknya. Burung hantu menjadi musuh utama jerboa.

FUNGSI
Telinga panjang jerboa berguna untuk mendinginkan suhu tubuhnya & berfungsi untuk menangkap mangsa dan melindungi diri dari predator karena pendengaran yang tajam.
