The Bazeries Cipher atau Sandi Bazeries adalah sebuah Cipher dengan sistem persamaan, menggunakan dua buah tabel Polybius Square dengan substitusi dan transposisi yang mudah diterapkan. Biasanya sandi ini digunakan untuk pesan panjang.
Ciri khas dari sandi ini adalah angka kunci yang berperan ganda. Pertama, sebagai panduan pembuatan tabel Polybius Square 2 dan juga sebagai panduan pembagian huruf.
Sandi Bazeries juga mempunyai ciri khas lain yaitu tabel Polybius Square pertama yg menggunakan susunan alfabet secara vertikal kebawah.
Tabel Polybius Square itu adalah tabel 5x5 (poly) yang berisi alfabet berurutan dari A s/d Z (yang biasanya huruf I & J selalu disatukan)
Jadi, ada total 25 kotak yg umumnya digunakan berbagai jenis Cipher2 terkenal. Contohnya Bifid, Playfair, Checkerboard, Nihilist, dll.
Umumnya angka kunci itu berperan ganda. Jadi setelah kita menemukan tabel Polybius Square kedua menggunakan angka kunci itu, kita gunakan angka kunci itu juga sebagai panduan pembagian huruf, sebelum kita transposisikan soalnya dengan kedua tabel Polybius.
