THE CATERPILLARS ROOM ( )

Little Scholars CATERPILLAR ROOM is just the beginning of schooling for your preschooler! We have established a great curriculum for this room. This class uses a curriculum called FUNSHINE EXPRESS; which is designed with your new learner mind. This curriculum is a high-quality, professionally designed early learning program that creates enthusiasm for learning and builds school readiness skills.

In this room your preschooler will begin to write. We will start off with tracing and then we will work on writing numbers and letters. We will practice on our classroom chalk boards everyday. We will have homework weekly. The teacher will keep track of all work turned in!

Little Scholars CATERPILLAR ROOM is special just for the younger preschooler. The younger preschooler room is bright, colorful and warm. Your preschooler will have his/her own cot with a clean sheet weekly. Preschool children love to play and the CATERPILLAR ROOM is filled with age appropriate toys such as dramatic play materials, sand and water table, arts and crafts, science, blocks, music instruments, and pretend dress up clothes.

Your preschooler will learn how to recognize and write numbers 1 through 10, recognize and write letters A-Z, basic shapes, colors and your child will be introduced to special themes each month. Your preschooler will also work on writing his/her first name. We will also build your preschoolers vocabulary which will help your child use words.

We will encourage your preschooler to practice self help skills like feeding themselves, using buttons and zippers and washing his or her hands. We will provide finger foods and allow adequate time for pleasurable feeding. In the CATERPILLAR ROOM the preschoolers are on a schedule which rotates from busy activities to quiet calm activities.

We will continue toilet training in this room if you and your child are ready. Parents please do not send TOYS with your child ( we have enough toys for your preschooler to share). Also we ask that you dress your child with clothes that allow your child to benefit from the entire days activities without the disappointment of you, if things get a little messy.

On your preschoolers first day of school:
*All forms must be filled out
*Food Program form completed
*A backpack big enough for a folder to fit
*A small blanket for nap time
*Physical and birth certificate completed
*Enough Pull-ups that close on the sides and wipes
*School supplies from list
*Full set of extra clothes for storage
