[5:21]Rhin Str'iden ((A hand in the crowd shoots into the air holding a slip of paper, "Two hundred thousand for the painting!" The bid is followed by a flurry of rapid bids from other attendees, each attempting to shout their bids over those of the others.))

[5:21]Rhin Str'iden ((Eventually the bids taper off as someone secures a questionably priceless artwork for some obscene sum. More objects d' art are brought out. Gelmoran pottery. Doman lacquerware. Exquisite Ishgardian silverwork. Each sell for increasingly higher bids.))
[5:21]Akahana Yamauchi: "I would expect little else of an underground auction." Red mutters, tail lashing.
[5:22]Seina Horo brought an eyebrow up as the occasional Doman relic passed by, but she kept silent while maintaining her bored and agitated expression.
[5:22]R'tafah Tia: "Remarkably similiar to a normal one so far, aside from the likely ways on how they got their hands on this stuff."
[5:23]Rhin Str'iden ((The sold artworks are carefully taken away after the bids are sealed and the next item is brought out, one that could be heard /well/ before it actually is brought to stand on the auction block. It's a Couerl, a real, live Couerl whose pelt is pure white. It's growls and the rattling of chains as two Alacran members keep tight grips on them lead it to a standing place where the auctioneer begins anew.))
[5:24]Rhin Str'iden: "I advice all of you to keep your enthusiastic bidding in check. We're not accountable for any maulings that happen should our next item for bid slip his tethers..."
[5:24]R'tafah Tia suddenly wishes he had telekinisis so he could mess with this bid.
[5:25]Rhin Str'iden: "So, for the albino coeurl, the bidding starts at... four-hundred thousand."
[5:26]Rhin Str'iden ((immediately several hands shoot into the air, with the simultaneous shouts of "Six hundred!" "Eight Hundred!" "One and a half million!"))
[5:26]B'raemha Banhi shuddered at the sight of the beast chained and bound. "So many chains in this place. People and wildlife a like."
[5:26]Rhin Str'iden (the coerurl for its part snarls and roars, straining at its chains as it tries to lunge towards the crowd.))
[5:26]Seina Horo scales rippled at the sight of the chained coeurl. "Its foul. This whole place is. But keep calm for now. This place wont survive for long... I promise this."
[5:27]R'tafah Tia quietly replied to Rae. "This is just another fancy object to them."
[5:28]Rhin Str'iden ((A third robed figure dashes out, whip in hand as it lashes at the captive creature's face, the sharp crack of the whip causing the beast to hiss and shy back away from the crowd))
[5:29]Rhin Str'iden: "....Note to all, you'll be responsible for the containment and transport of your goods once payment is made."
[5:30]Akahana Yamauchi recoils at the sight of the thrashing beast, making sure to stay well away from the stage.
[5:31]Seina Horo took half a step forward as the whip cracks, her expression darkening for a brief moment. In an instant she was back in character and under control, despite the steady stream of Xaelan curses she mumbled.
[5:32]Akahana Yamauchi presses her hand gently against Seina's arm briefly, squeezing before returning both arms across her chest firmly.
[5:32]B'raemha Banhi really tried to stay calm, she really did, but the aether began to coil around her as she tried to appear impassive.
[5:32]Rhin Str'iden ((the bidding continues on for a short while longer, until a bespectacled Dunesfolk woman secures the winning bid. She snaps her fingers, one of her attendants moving off to speak with the auction clerk, a small squadron of other dunesfolk minders stepping forwad to take the chains and lead the new pet away to its fate. "That pelt will make for a most luxurious coat for the ball at House Dzemael next moon..." the winning bidder muses to herself as she watches the coeurl being led away.))
[5:33]Akahana Yamauchi: "Linna." Red hisses, whapping the Seeker with her tail.
[5:33]B'raemha Banhi clenched her jaw and remained silent.
[5:34]Seina Horo: "Only if they make it back t' Ul'dah. Something tells me they wont..."
[5:35]Akahana Yamauchi watches on as yet more items are brought forward, leaning close to Seina. "Perhaps you will find aught of interest soon, miss."
[5:37]Seina Horo turned partially, eyes still on the stage as she spoke to the Raen. "Let us hope so. This place is.. filthy. I'll be cleaning dust from my scales all night..."
[5:37]R'tafah Tia: "If you're not making one of us do it instead." He teased out.
[5:38]Akahana Yamauchi nods curtly, vivid eyes fixed on the robed figures as more items take to the stage.
[5:38]Rhin Str'iden taps the auction block as attendants bring a small case forward. He reaches within and withdraws a crystalline tube, glowing softly in the shade of the cavern. Metallic bands encircle the tube, and a mesh of fine golden wire is splayed between shiny prongs that extend from one end. "Now, this is a real rarity - a device of Sharlyan make. Pure aetheric crystal glass, electrum metalwork. Used for their research into magical study..."
[5:39]Seina Horo snorted. "You say that, but you've no idea how long that takes, an' how particular some can be."
[5:39]Akahana Yamauchi nudges Seina knowingly.
[5:39]R'tafah Tia whispered to Seina. "Wait a moment before bidding, don't look or sound desperate."
[5:40]Rhin Str'iden: "The opening bid for-" The auctioneer is cut off as someone immediately shouts "One hundred thousand!"
[5:40]Akahana Yamauchi: "Miss, I believe this item would go nicely in your collection."
[5:41]Rhin Str'iden points the device at various bidders in turn as the price rises with each call. Two hundred, two hundred and fifty, three hundred and fifty..
[5:41]Seina Horo studied the object for a moment, then nodded. "It -would- look good, I agree. One hundred an' thirty!", she called out, raising a hand as well.
[5:42]Seina Horo: "Tch. Five hundred thousand!"
[5:42]Akahana Yamauchi || If only Red could go more pale. The sums being offered are enough to make a Raen faint.
[5:42]Rhin Str'iden points the device directly at Seina. "Five hundred thousand to the mistress in white!"
[5:43]B'raemha Banhi could do little more than watch as the amounts were far beyond anything she'd ever dreamed of.
[5:43]Seina Horo puffed out her chest proudly, as if daring anyone to raise the bid. She eyed the crowd confidently, even letting herself sneer.
[5:43]Rhin Str'iden (("Seven hundred!" calls a shrill voice, the bespectacled dunesfolk woman again with sits upon a chair smugly, tapping a fan against her chin.))
