Notes

Hello guys. First thing first, let me introduce my self. My name is Bias, I was born in Central Java but now I lived at West Java with my wife and two adorable kids, boy and girl. When I am not at work, I love spending time watching movie with my wife and bombard her with useless trivia about that movie, other than than I really love reading, but because kids and all, sadly I am not reading as much as I would like to. Don't get me wrong, I utterly love my kids, they are the reason I always seek for the best.

Enough about my personal life, let start with my professional life, this is the one you guys want to hear, right? Lets going back in time a bit, I already coding when I was in vocational high school, at 2008, my school sent me to join national science olympiad for ICT Programming, with only 2 weeks preparation on Turbo Pascal, surely I was beat up badly there, but since then I am starting to interested in programming. 2009 I am moving to Bandung, learning about Network Programming at Telkom University, from there I am starting to take small projects from friends, mostly website, PHP with front end stuff, even thought I don't really understand it at first just take the projects because I want to learn, but because I am particularly fast-learner, I can get it done and right in no time.

November 2012 was the first time I get paid professionally. I am joining small software company at Bandung called UrsaByte. I works on wide range of projects, basically become semi-superman. But cannot be denied, I learn lot of stuff from when I am working at this company. I work at desktop (C# and Java), website and APIs (PHP, Java (Spring&Hibernate), Front end stuff), mobile (Android, from logic to design), database (Postgres, SQLite, MySQL, MsSQL, stored procedural, PLSQL), server side (setting up server, VPS, creating voice streaming server using Red5).

December 2015 I took opportunity to work at Ebizu as a Backend Developer. Mostly I work behind the screen, working on data, logic and transaction. The first 5 months I work on wide range of projects, Ebizu's products. At April 2016 I handle Manis version 3.0.0 as Technical Team Leader, previously 2.0.0, both mobile and API are building again from the scratch with best practice, a whole new system, new database, everything I build single handedly from the first time, because the previous system is just too much to be fixed, it just easier to build new one, or so I thought. After two months of suffering and blood bath, Manis version 3.0.0 finally released. Manis basically is loyalty application, you snap you receipt, the amount of the receipt is converted to points, you can change your points with rewards, simple as that. Well it look simple because the complicated part is already on my jobs to make it to the end user as simple it can get. I don't get paid to write code, I get paid to add value to the company or reduce costs.

Manis are using Lumen (Laravel Micro Framework), because Ebizu is really AWS centric, everything are in the clouds. For database we are using RDS and Kinesis for log tracking, Redis for the caching mechanism, Redis Geo API are freaking awesome, SQS for sync worker, SNS for push notification, S3 for storing static files, ElasticSearch for, well, searching. Right now we are in the middle of porting queue jobs from Redis driver to SQS worker tier, from RDS to DynamoDB, and from conventional server to serverless using AWS Lambda (using python). Btw, did I already mention that I have AWS course certificate for Technical Essential and Developing on AWS? Now I did.

I am fast-learner, hungry for knowledge, hard-worker, unyielding and always take a step to improve. Maybe I don't have the brightest mind, but I have the highest dedication on project you might find. So, can't wait to hear from you guys. Thank you. I am out.
