#2 This one is a comedic parallel when Truman walks up 'the stairway to heaven'. Meaning when Truman walked up the stairs built into the sky towards his escape.
#3 Christof created the Truman Show, and his name is built from Christ-of which represents to how he is the God of Truman's world.
#4The Seahaven was built specifically for Truman just like the Garden of Eden how it was built for Adam and Eve.
#5 The temptress, Sylvia tells Truman the truth and trys to make him leave his paradise. Sylvia is like the apple that drives Truman to finally disobey the rules of his perfect world. #1 When the film refers to Truman as jesus walking on water it is right in the fact that the whole world worshiped him, in a way he was their real life celebrity. Catholics and Christians worship God and Jesus now which is just like how they treated Truman, making it an appropriate parallel.
#2 Truman finds a stairway out to his freedom to his end of the show, which is like a stairway to heaven it is a very witty reference to biblical beliefs. This is an appropriate parallel in the creativity of the director because Trumanis trying to find his way through the painted clouds which is where the voice of God aka Christof is coming from.
#3 This is not an appropriate parallel because it was wrong of Christof to do this to someone. Creating a fake world and controlling every aspect of a mans freedom is morally wrong.
#4 This is not an appropriate parallel because no matter how perfect you believe a 'paradise' is, it can never be as perfect as the one our God made for us.
#5 It was completely right of Sylvia to ruin Christof's illusion of a real world, so Truman could be free to live his own life. Taking others out of a fake paradise is an appropriate parallel and choice. Sylvia revealing the truth to Truman is morally right because he has the right to know his whole life is a lie. This lie may lead to him wondering if his father really is his father and if his wife actually loves him. This parallel is the most powerful because it leads Truman's whole life to question if he is really a man of his own will. Choosing this parallel is the best choice because the director put alot of thought to lead up to Sylvia. Sylvia is Truman's Eve, the whole entire story is built off of this idea of a world outside of this paradise. The director is suggesting that we all need something to believe in to lead us to our freedom and that is our God.
