hi my name is georgia o'keefe, i am one of the most famouse artsists of the 20th century, my paintings of flowers and desrt landscapes are known around the world. it all started in 1887 in wisconisn where i was born into a family of 6 brothers and sisters. i was always interested in art so i was very happy to be accepted at theb art institues of chiago where my training was on realsm, which is making a painting look the same as what you are painting. i started to think about painting differnetly when my painting was focused on compostions and design, this lead my mind tp so many new possibilitys i started to experiment with different techneuqies when i started teaching classes in south carolina and texas. i began using charcole and created many paintings that were different from what many artists were doing at that time. becuase of this, i became one of the first american to focus purely on abstract work. i sent some of my work to a friend in ny who sent to a famous art gallery owned by a very famous photographer, his name was arthue steiglitz. i eventually married arthur when it was clear that we had so much in common.
