QT aralığı: Yaş, cinsiyet, kalp hızına göre değişiklik gösterir.
RR aralığı: Kalp hızını belirlemede kullanılır.
ST Segmenti: Şeklinin tanısal değeri vardır, süresi önemsiz
Örneğin 25 mm/s kağıt hızı ile yapılan bir EKG kaydında R-R mesafesi 20 mm ise bir kalp periyodu 20x0.04=0.80 s ve kalp frekansı 60/0.80 s =75 atım/dakika olarak bulunur. ( 1 atım = 0.8 sn ise 60 snde kaç atım yapar )
