~ Pada 20 Maret 2017, tepatnya pada pukul 17:21 WIB, akan terjadi ekuinoks Maret, yakni peristiwa ketika Matahari berada di atas cakrawala.
~ Menurut definisi astronomi, ekuinoks Maret ini menandai awal musim semi di belahan Bumi utara dan musim gugur di belahan Bumi selatan.
~ Nama "ekuinoks" berasal dari bahasa Latin aequus yg berarti sama dan nox yg berarti malam, di namakan Ekuinoks karena selama ekuinoks, panjang siang dan malam sama.
~ Ekuinoks terjadi dua kali setahun, yaitu sekitar 20 Maret dan 22 September ketika sumbu Bumi tidak terinklinasi terhadap Matahari, dan pusat Matahari berada di bidang yang sama dengan khatulistiwa Bumi.
~ Pada hari ekuinoks, Matahari akan terbit tepat di ufuk timur, lalu berada tepat di atas kepala bagi yang tinggal di garis ekuator, dan akan terbenam tepat di ufuk barat. Pada hari ini juga, kala siang dan malam di Bumi akan sama rata masing-masing 12 jam.
