metaphase - spindle fully formed, chromatids located at poles, spindle fibers attach to kinetochores, chromosomes line up at the equator
anaphase - spindle fibers shorten or lengthen, chromosomes move toward opposite poles, most rapid phase of mitosis
telophase - nucleolus reforms, nuclear membrane
