In my opinion sportsman ship has points where its worse than it used to be and also considerably better. So basically it has taller height's and lower lows as far as sportsmanship. I believe sportsmanship is very important and coaches should definitely be worried about it. Football for instance is a very large and competitive sport, however I think two teams should be able to come out play a game and still have good sportsmanship no matter who wins. It should be a very competitive game, both teams trying their best to beat the other. But when it comes down to one team losing they shouldn't be making cheap shots on the other team. As a coach I would make sure my players had great sportsman ship because there's no point in playing a game if the players are just going to get mad at each other, its supposed to be fun. Also it helps to win the game if your not getting penalties all the time. I would make sure to have my team keep good sportsmanship and then let the officials know if the other team is playing dirty. So overall I think our sportsmanship today has improved from years back, however nowadays there are a couple things that have occurred that was worse than back then.
