Perkenalan dalam Bahasa Jerman
Guten Morgen = Selamat pagi
Guten Tag = Selamat Siang
Guten Abend = Selamat Sore/Malam
Guten Nacht = Selamat Malam, digunakan saat menjelang tidur
Bila menjawab salam pun orang Jerman hanya mengucapkan kembali kalimat salam yang digunakan penanya.
Contoh :
A: "Guten Abend!"
B: "Guten Abend."
Setelah salam dilanjutkan dengan saling menanya kabar. Dan kalimat yang biasanya digunakan,
"Wie geht es Ihnen?" (Formal)
"Wie geht es dir?" (Informal)
artinya "Bagaimana kabar Anda?"
Jawaban untuk kalimat tersebut, diantaranya ada Danke, gut; Es geht; Prima; Super; Sehr gut.
Contoh :
A: "Wie geht es Ihnen?"
B: "Danke, gut"
Dalam perkenalan, pasti seseorang menanyakan nama atau memperkenalkan nama.
Beberapa alternatif kata tanya nama dalam Bahasa Jerman, yaitu
"Wie ist Ihr Name?" = Siapa nama Anda?
"Wie heissen Sie?" = Siapa nama Anda?
"Wer sind Sie?" = Siapa Anda?
Jawabannya,
"Mein Name ist (...)" = Nama Saya (...)
"Ich heisse (...)"
"Ich bin (...)"
Selanjutnya bisa disambung dengan kalimat tanya asal dan tempat tinggal. Seperti,
"Woher kommen Sie?" = Dari mana asal Anda?
"Wo wohnen Sie?" = Dimana Anda tinggal?
Dan kalimat tanya asal dan tempat tinggal dalam suasana akrab itu, seperti
"Woher kommst du?" = Dari mana asal kamu?
"Wo wohnst du?" = Kamu tinggal dimana?"
Jawabannya,
"Ich komme aus (Swiss)" = Saya berasal dari Swiss
"Ich wohne in (Montana)" = Saya tinggal di Montana
