As a support analyst working active directory I...
1) create users account, reset user's user name or password, unlock and delete account.
2) gave access to specific users for specific network drives

6) help users increase the limit of their inbox



DHCP SERVER (Dynamic Host Protocol Configuration) provides different IP addresses to users so they can connect to the internet and communicate with other users. When you connect your cellphone or laptop to ethernet or wifi, DHCP server assigns your device with an IP address each time.
DNS - (Domain Name System) maps the domain name to IP address. Computers communicate with IP adress of google.com not just the name google.com
When we want to visit websitee, we would enter the URL in the browser. The browser would then contact the DNS and ask for the associated IP address of the domain name we entered; using the obtained IP address the browser can then communicate with that computer and ask for its home page or the specific page that you’ve requested.




If user calls, I ask what type of connection they are using. Ware/ethernet or wireless? If ware, ask them to
1)check the port or cable (it could be damaged/old or not plugged in properly or tightly) Is it working properly? If that does not resolve the issue...
2) reboot/restart computer (so the network port initiates from the beginning) Maybe the computer was not rebooted for a long time so it overheated and stopped working properly. That should resolve the issue, if not...
3) check IP adress (start, search option, cmd to open up ms dos prompt, ipconfig, enter, ipv4) Sometimes, there may be no IP adress showing which is crucial to connect to the network. That should resolve the issue, if not...
4) release (leave that IP address because it might be invalid.) & renew IP adress from DHCP server (start, cmd, ip
5) update user's group policy - (start, search option, cmd to open ms dos prompt, IPconfig/gpupdate
Why update group policy? It provides a centralized management or rules for all the users and applications in active directory.
(My company asked everyone to leave their laptops at work and connect it to an ethernet cable so they can run a group policy. When I go back to work, my computer is all rebooted and ready.) If my computer was not updated, it would no longer be connected to the domain or network. All the computers need connected to one domain. Once it's updated, the computer should be able to connect to the network. If it still does not resolve the issue, i will escalate it to my supervisor.
