A bully is a boy or a girl who is usually very mean to others. Bullies sometimes kick or push others to hurt them. They often say mean things about someone or leave someone out of the group on purpose. They make fun of others or call them names. They send rude text messages over the mobile phone or tell lies about other pupils behind their back.
Bullies often think that bullying is a way to become popular. They usually look for someone's attention. They always want to make themselves very important. They sometimes come from families where people are angry and often shout at each other, so they believe that's a normal way to behave. Some bullies never care about or understand other people's filings. They feel weak most of the time and they believe they will get more power if they bully someone. That's way they choose children who get easily upset or those that are in any way different. Sometimes they pick on someone for reasons only they know.
If you are bullied, you will feel sad, worried or scared. Sometimes you may feel embarrassed because bullies can make comments about your looks. You may feel nervous about going to school. You can even get a stomachache whenever you know there is a chance you are going to meet the person who is giving you a hard time.
