ever since yuri's alpha parents died in a car crash when he was four, he's been raised by his omega grandfather. with his delicate build and features, everyone expected him to become an omega. when his sixteenth and seventeenth birthdays pass without him presenting, he is assumed to be a beta. after he turns eighteen tho he shoots up (six feet! that's taller than viktor!), fills out, and presents as an alpha. an alpha almost as powerful as katsudon.

otabek's mother is an omega, and his father is an alpha. his younger-by-two-years sister is on the way to becoming a beta, judging by her logical disposition and lack of alpha or omega instincts. despite the fact that he's rather short (and delicate) for an alpha, that's what everyone expects him to be. he presents as an omega when he's sixteen, and takes suppressants while he's skating. once he retires at 21, he stops and it turns out he's actually an extremely enticing omega, like viktor.

when yuri sees and smells otabek as an omega for the first time, he has to fight very hard not to start posturing and showing off his muscles.

when otabek sees and smells yuri as an alpha for the first time, he has to fight very hard not to start preening and releasing enticing scents.

alternatively titled "otabek altin is literally five feet six inches and 140 pounds of muscle and agility but yuri plisetsky will literally fight anyone who so much as looks at him wrong"
