Unta bisa bertahan hingga enam bulan tanpa makanan atau air. unta biasanya ditemukan di padang pasir, padang rumput atau padang rumput. "unta dapat tinggal di daerah beriklim panas, suhu berkisar antara minus 29 derajat C sampai 48 derajat C . unta betina hamil selama 12-14 bulan dan biasanya hanya lahir satu bayi saja tapi ada juga unta yang punya anak kembar. Dan unta dapat hidup sekitar 17 tahun lamanya.
