What was the situation before the change?

In 1838 till 1850, Britain was a highly unfair and undemocratic place to be, unless you were on the top of the chain.
Less than 1.5 Million men out of the 30 Million populating Britain had, had the ‘right’ to vote.
Sadly things were not easy to change as all MPs were rich/wealthy with no real care for the poor, and no reason ( in their eyes) to give anyone else the vote.
It wasn’t until later in 1850, that change would start to happen, and lead to the situation Britain's ‘un-wealthy’ ere in, to improve, mainly thanks to four of the most important factors/reforms that took place in the countries History.

Corruption
Representation of all and increased choice.

What had changed by 1900?

By 1900, the 1867 reform act gave Ratepayers had the vote, (so long as they payed £10 per annual property rent.
This meant that by 1900, one in every three men had the vote.
The number of voters also increased to 2.5 million.
However, the power was still not in the hands of the people, and instead was still in the hands of the wealth and the powerful aristocrats, who owned plenty of British land.

what had changed
The 1884 Repression of the people Act, had also brought around change by 1900.
This Act brought about, another increase in voters, moving from 2.5 Million to 5 Million.
Men now had a two in three chances of getting the right to vote.

However, voting was still based on property qualification.
