TEORI BIG BANG
> Teori big bang, teori ini mengatakan bahwa jagat raya berawal dari satu masa tunggal yang memiliki suhu dan energi yang sangat besar.
> Awalnya terdapat partikel terbentuk dari satu bulatan berukuran besar yang mengandung panas pada suhu tertentu. Hingga tidak dapat menahan panas lagi dan pada akhirnya meledak. Berpisah dan membentuk bulatan lain yang disebut dengan planet.
> Teori bigbang ini menyatakan bahwa alam semesta ini berasal dari kondisi super padat dan panas, yang kemudian mengembang 13.700 juta tahun lalu.
TEORI JAGAT RAYA MENGEMBANG
Teori jagat raya mengembang dikemukakan oleh Hubble dengan didukung oleh Stephen Hawking.
Hubble menyatakan bahwa galaksi-galaksi bergerak saling menjauh, sehingga disimpulkan kalau jagat raya terus mengembang jadi lebih luas.
TEORI KEADAAN TETAP ATAU OSILASI
Teori keadaan tetap atau teori osilasi, yang mengatakan bahwa materi baru berupa hidrogen tercipta setiap saat untuk mengisi ruang kosong yang timbul dari pengembangan jagat raya. Dengan begitu, jagat raya akan tetap dan selalu tampak sama.
Namun teori ini dipatahkan oleh ahli fisika lain, karena tidak sesuai dengan hukum fisika.
