Secara arti, kedua jenis mantra ini berarti menempel. Namun, dalam prakteknya, Mending Charm berfungsi membenarkan kerusakan sedangkan Sticking Charm berfungsi untuk melindungi objek dengan membuatnya menempel dan atau membuat orang lain menempel demi perlindungan.
Pengecualian untuk Mending Charm adalah mantra di dalamnya tidak mempan terhadap makhluk hidup atau objek yang terkena Fiendfyre atau sihir hitam.
Ada dua mantra Mending Charm: Reparo dan Oculus Reparo. Oculus Reparo adalah mantra yang khusus di aplikasi pada kacamata.
Mantra pada Sticking Charm terfokus pada dua mantra, Epoximise dan Coloshoo. Epoximise membuat kedua objek menempel, sedangkan Coloshoo membuat kaki menempel pada lantai.
