Dalam kisah mitologi Yunani dikatakan bahwa Perseus menggunakan perisai ini sebagai pancaran cermin saat melawan medusa sehingga Perseus mampu membunuh medusa. Ketika itu Athena meminta kepala medusa yang selanjutnya ia taruh kepalanya di depan perisai yang di guanakan Perseus tadi.

Adalah sebuah alat yang dihasilkan dari ilmu sihir hitam. Pembuatan benda ini menggunakan tangan jenasah. Kekuatan tangan ini adalah mampu membuka pintu apa saja dan membuat setiap orang terhenti. Cara menggunakan benda ini tertulis dalam sebuah buku sihir bertulisan latin yang bernama Compedium yang dipublikasikan pada tahun 1608.
