Kemampuan ini biasanya didapati dari garis keturunan, yang mana dalam hal ini merupakan keturunan asli Salazar Slytherin. Penyihir yang mempunyai Parselmouth antara lain seperti Salazar Slytherin, Tom Morvolo Riddle dan Harry Potter.
