First I would like to thank St. Lukes Roman Catholic Church , Father Ramone and Deacon Glenn for taking us under their wing for this sacrament. Anastasi Stasia Elliott was a devout Greek Orthodox, played the organ for the choir, and attended mass every Sunday, but because of circumstances she was cremeated and not accepted by the Greek Orthodox church.

Thank you all for being here to honor and respect my sister Anastasia (Stasia) Elliott.
I am Theodora Kulish, Stasia's younger sister. There are two more sisters, Victoria and Florence and we were always known as the 4 sisters!

Stasia was born in Greece and migrated to the USA at the age of 1. We lived in NY City area until our parents were advised by doctors that Stasia would not survive the northeast weather. So we hopped on a train, moved cross country to Stockton California where we had relatives and a warmer climate.

There is a line in the play Phantom of the Opera: "The angels of music play music in my head" Stasia love music, classical music
On Saturdays when we were supposed to help clean house, Stasia would put on classical music on the Victrola and dance around the house to the music in her head , like a ballerina. .

Stasia met Richard Elliott in her first year in college. They were married and Stasia gave up her education to move to Rochester, NY so that Richard could continue his studies at the Julliard School of music. They had two children, Ethana and Dio whom she was totally devoted to. She did her best to support them (sacraficing her own comfort). and did so even after her death.

After graduating they returned to California and divoced. Stasia moved in with my mother She went to work for the San Juauin county welfare department until she retired. She lived with my mother until after our mother's passing and two years later moved in with her son Dion and his wife Jillita. She lived there for 10 years until her recent passing.

Stasia loved to read. She loved our Lord God Jesus Christ. She loved the Bible and would carry it with her and read it constantly. Stasia loved all and accepted all. She was kind, sweet never one to argue. Stasia was beautiful inside and out. She never had a disparaging word for anyone or to anyone. She loved to stop at her favorite coffee shop after work on Pacific Avenue and discuss the issues of the day with friends who would gather there.

Although she will be missed by all who knew and loved her, the Greeks have an awesome saying:
