The Creation of Continuing Professional Development (CPD) is an integrated effort to ensure that health professionals equip themselves or be equipped with knowledge, skills and values ​​and professional practices based on competency development, continuous learning and career paths.

CPD is a program that contributes to the increased knowledge, skills and experience that can improve the professionalism of employees in their respective fields. This approach is very important as the field of medicine is constantly evolving with the latest research findings and findings that require health professionals to improve their knowledge in tandem with the progress made to provide the best and most up-to-date medical treatment to the community.

Among the directions of the MOH in the "MKRA" related CPD is to implement a transformation so that the health sector becomes more efficient and effective in ensuring universal access to health care including priorities for the enhancement of private-public partnership.

Implementation of the CPD Program was initiated in the 9MP based on Capital Development. Holistic people with added value in the task being implemented. The CPD program at the time was aimed at stimulating the culture of knowledgeable, competitive, dynamic and excellence-oriented workers. Discovery and production of new technologies make today's knowledge and skills less relevant in the future. Therefore, every member of health is responsible for continuously improving their level of knowledge, skills and competence. Structured mechanisms are needed to ensure that all health professionals at all levels get the chance to join the CPD program.
