4. - Tari Tunggal (solo). Contohnya yaitu Tari Gandrung dari Jawa Tengah.
- Tari Berpasangan (duet).
Contohnya yaitu Tari Topeng dari Jawa Barat.
- Tari Berkelompok (grup).
Contohnya yaitu Tari Saman dari Aceh.

- Tari Pergaulan, yakni tarian yang dilakukan untuk saling berinteraksi dan berkesenian bersama.
- Tari Kesenian, yakni tarian yang dipertunjukkan untuk melestarikan budaya dan menghargai warisan budaya tradisional.
